Physical Properties:
- Lift capacity: 4 Lb - 12 Lb (1.8 Kg - 5.4 Kg)
- This model of balloon is configured so that it can be compliant with the regulations laid out in 14 CFR Part 101.1 (a) (4). Which restricts lift mass and necessitates a weak connection between the balloon and the payload. Without specific modifications these systems cannot lift more than 12 lbs. Contact us for details on lift capacity and modifications for heavier lift.
- Maximum Float Altitude: 61,000 ft (18.6 km)
- Float altitude depends on lift gas type and hook-on mass. See chart below.

- Total balloon system mass (not including payload): 3.0 Kg +/- 1 Kg
Command and Control Capabilities:
Urban Sky balloons are preconfigured to link to the Urban Sky Missions Control Portal. Balloons will appear in the portal upon power on (requires a clear view of the sky).
- Live redundant tracking
- Redundant remotely commanded termination
- Redundant remotely settable geofence
- Live health monitoring on all integrated systems with alerts
